First UI Project

It's a Saturday! A day when you're supposed to clean your room, yay! Today, I decided to declutter my disk instead of my room. Rummaging through last year's files, I found something sweet and cute and gummy: my first ever user interface design project, SkypeGum.

My friend, SJ was working on this app and he needed a designer for the UI. I remember how pretty excited I was. Here was the sketch for the initial design.

I was asked to create the logos, the buttons
and the background for the SkypeGum app. SJ wanted something gummy so I chose a gummy pink color and the Sniglet font from The League of Movable Type for the logotype. After much tutorials-scouting, photoshopping, editing, and color request, here were the final products.

I created two packs: one turquoise and one bubble gum pink pack. I find the custom pixel buttons very cute and nostalgic.

Here's the screen shots of the actual program. It's now being used in the office, looks kind of bland though because of the colors. But whenever I remember that it is now being officially used, I'm happy. ^_^

The Gum character is soo cute and gummy!

Program used: Adobe Photoshop CS4
Timeline: [i can't remember]
Mood: great fun!
