Algae Story

She never thought she’ll see such fiery sea
As if the stars fell and swam the bubbling current (they glow)
they dance to the songs of the sea unheard to thee
they twinkle neon lights
the girl she jumped up and down
“What fairy-tale?”
Dinoflagellates they say
Algae blue-green bioluminescent
the stars of the sea (they glow)
every wave a heartbeat or so (they glow)
seducing hypnotizing
“Swim in the deep with the stars of the sea
Touch the lovely fire in the waves, come, come…”
They dance to the songs of the sea unheard to thee
pause in a wall of water with poise (they glow)
then smash at the beach
Like a vase dropped broken but beautiful
Over and over
loving whispering begging the girl on the shore
“Come to me!”
Dancing glow despairing
breaks itself to none
when she contents herself to wonder,

Magic exists. It does
